Osman DUR

He was born in Konya in 1964 and resides in Istanbul. After graduating from the university with a top degree in 1984, he became a Research Assistant in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science of Ankara University and also started his Master's Studies.

Later, he continued his Master's Studies in Budapest with the research scholarship he is granted by the Budapest Technical University. In 1994, he moved to Istanbul Marmara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics and started his Doctoral Studies. Afterwards, he continued his Doctoral Studies at Florida State University National High Magnetic Field Laboratory with a research scholarship he is granted by the Florida State University. After completing his Doctoral Studies, he returned to Marmara University. For a while, he continued his studies as an academician and moved to the private sector in 1998 by deciding to continue his academic studies part-time. Some of the positions he served are: Faculty Member at Ankara University, Budapest Technical University, Marmara University, and Florida State Universities; Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors in AYCELL GSM OPERATÖRÜ AŞ; Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager in EURASIASAT AŞ (Monaco); Member of the Board of Directors at INTELSAT (USA), INMARSAT (London), EUTELSAT (Paris), which are International Satellite Operators; Chairman of the Board of Directors and Founding General Manager in TÜRKSAT AŞ; Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors in ÇALİK HOLDING; Member of the Board of Directors in TR BOR AŞ; Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager at companies titled BMC POWER AŞ and TR MOTOR AŞ. He is specifically interested in examining the models regarding the conversion of data into products and development of data/technology; and also, in the development of models. Dr OSMAN DUR, who is married and has four children, speaks English, French and intermediate Arabic.
